On the morning of February 26, the closing ceremony for the First Hospital of Lanzhou University - Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Medical Education (Interventional Cardiology Specialist Training Program) was held at Yingfu Building. Attendees included Bai Ming, Dean of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University, Hou Xiaoming, Vice Dean, along with Liu Yatao, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and Yao Jia, Deputy Director. Key physicians from the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine also participated. The ceremony was chaired by Liu Yatao.

In his address, Dean Bai Ming expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia for its longstanding support of bilateral medical cooperation. He also acknowledged the Indonesian doctors’ sincere communication and positive interactions with the medical team and patients during their training. He noted that this training serves as a vivid practice of deepening the “Belt and Road” medical cooperation initiative, building a bridge of friendship based on “mutual learning and joint progress.” He expressed hope for further expanding collaboration across broader fields and deeper levels, exploring more cooperation possibilities, and jointly cultivating talents with an international perspective and strong professional skills to contribute to the development of regional medical and health undertakings.
Ms. Alexandra Vania, representative of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, delivered an online speech, sincerely thanking the hospital for its support to the doctors over the past year. She stated that the training had greatly benefited them and that they would bring the knowledge back to their home country to save more patients.

Dr. Zhou Xinghu, Deputy Chief Physician of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and representative of the interventional training mentors, reviewed the training process. Over the past year, nine Indonesian doctors, under the guidance of the mentor team's standardized training system and ample practical opportunities, systematically mastered the mature experiences and technical approaches in China’s interventional cardiology field. They made significant progress in coronary angiography, stent implantation, and complex lesion management, establishing a solid foundation for independently carrying out related work in the future.

Dr. Hariman Kristian Sitanggang, representative of the Indonesian doctors, stated that during the training, they not only improved their professional skills but also gained a deeper appreciation of Chinese culture. He specifically thanked the mentors for their selfless teaching and guidance, which gave them a better understanding of the responsibilities of a physician.

At the ceremony, leaders from the First Hospital of Lanzhou University presented training completion certificates to each participant. This program represents a key initiative by the hospital to implement the “Belt and Road” Initiative and actively expand international medical education cooperation. The hospital will continue to promote high-level international medical exchanges and collaboration, continuously enhancing its capacity for international talent cultivation and exchange.
